SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

  • Short films only.
  • Runtimes must be 15 minutes and under including credits.
  • Preference will be shown for productions filmed within the Appalachian Highlands region (East Tennessee, Southwest Virginia, or Western North Carolina) or filmmakers native to the region.
  • All submissions must be either be in English or include English subtitles.

FEES

Submissions will be screened by a panel of judges who will review and assess them in great detail. Judges will then score the submissions based on several core filmmaking categories (writing, cinematography, acting, makeup, visual effects, etc.) on a scale of 1-5 and give their recommendations for inclusion in the festival as well as awards. Judges will be experienced filmmakers, educators, industry professionals and horror enthusiasts with extensive knowledge of the genre and the filmmaking process.
